What is a T-shaped engineer?
An engineer who knows the whole stack well enough to build and run it (Linux, networks, code, cloud, containers, pipelines, observability, data and security) and one area in depth. T Academy teaches the bar of the T first, in Foundation, then one deep path.
Is this platform engineering training?
Yes. Foundation covers Linux, networking, cloud, containers and Kubernetes, and CI/CD. The Secure Platform Engineering path then goes deep: immutable operating systems and cluster hardening, network policy, service mesh and gateways, storage and databases, streaming, and running the platform as a product.
Are the labs real?
Yes. Every lab is your own isolated Linux host or virtual machine in the browser, not a simulator, and your work is checked against the real state of that system. There are no videos: a short read, then the work.
Do I need experience?
No. Foundation starts from a login prompt and assumes nothing. Each course builds on the one before it, so the order is the plan.
Is everything $39 a month?
No. $39 a month is Foundation only, and it stops the day you finish it. A cert path is a one-time price — the courses, 90 days of on-demand labs and the exam — not a monthly charge.
What exactly is free?
The first two lessons of Linux 1 and their labs, with a free account and no card. Nothing else: every other lesson, course, path and certification is paid.
What happens after the 90-day lab window?
Your courses, notes and write-ups stay for life; the live labs close at day 90. Move on to the next cert when you are ready.
Can I just buy a cert path and start?
No. Every path builds on Foundation, and enrolment opens the day your Certificate of Completion is issued. You cannot pay past it, and that is the point: we want you to succeed on the range, not to buy a seat you cannot use yet.
What is H2-CTSE?
Certified T-Shaped Security Expert — awarded automatically, free, the day you hold all seven core credentials. Signed and self-verifiable like the others.
Why do specialist certs cost more than core?
They are 48-hour practicals on a stack you build during the path, graded by outcome with a human on the other side, and they assume the core.
